When Nothing Seems to Change | Genesis 8:1-19
BIG IDEA: Believers must anchor their lives in God's faithfulness, not their circumstances. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN How do we live faithfully in a season of waiting? 1. Rest in God's Faithfulness (1-5) 2. Rely on God's Timing (6-14) 3. Respond to God's Purpose (15-19) FAITH IN ACTION Are you grounded in what God has said, or shaken by what you see? Have you grown impatient in a season the Lord is still using? Are you faithfully doing what Scripture calls you to do, even when it’s hard?

The Illusion of Control | Genesis 7:11-24
BIG IDEA: Believers reject the illusion of control and live under God's authority. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN What happens when God encounters a world that thinks it's in control? 1. God's Authority Confronts (11-16) 2. Human Control Collapses (17-20) 3. God's Judgment Conquers (21-24) FAITH IN ACTION If God is truly sovereign, why do I panic so quickly when life feels out of control? Am I trusting God or just trusting my ability to hold everything together? Do I take God's warnings as seriously as Scripture presents them?

Before the Storm | Genesis 7:1-10
BIG IDEA: Christians must take God at His Word and respond in faith before it's too late. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN What does real faith look like before the storms of life ever come? 1. Stand on God's Promise (1) 2. Submit to God's Provision (2-3) 3. Step into God's Protection (4-10) FAITH IN ACTION What do you trust more, God's Word or your own experiences and instincts? Where are you resisting God's provision because it's not what you wanted? If you really believed time was short, what would you stop putting off today?

A World That Can't Save Itself | Genesis 6:9-22
BIG IDEA: Christians are called to rely on God's saving plan, not the world's version of salvation. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN How should God's people live in a world that can't save itself? 1. Embrace God's Ways (9-10) 2. Expect God's Judgment (11-13) 3. Enter God's Salvation (14-22) FAITH IN ACTION Are you more concerned with fitting in with the world or walking faithfully with God? Do you believe God is holy enough to judge and good enough to warn? Where are you relying on your performance instead of God's provision?

The Lie We Believe About Ourselves | Genesis 6:1-8
BIG IDEA: Christians recognize the corruption of our hearts and our constant need for God's grace. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN How should Christians think about the human heart when the world keeps telling us people are good? 1. Defend God's Design (1-4) 2. Discern Man's Depravity (5-7) 3. Depend on God's Divine Grace (8) FAITH IN ACTION If someone looked at my life, would they see God's Word or the world shaping my decisions? Do I diagnose everyone else's sin before I examine my own heart? Am I resting in what Christ has done or still trying to prove I'm good enough?

The Way Back | Genesis 3:20-24
BIG IDEA Christians trust God's promise and rely on His sacrifice, not their own effort. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN How do we stay grounded in God's truth in a world that's lost its way? 1. Trust the Lord's Promise (20) 2. Treasure the Lord's Provision (21) 3. Take the Lord's Path (22-24) FAITH IN ACTION What circumstances are tempting me to doubt the Lord's promise? Where am I trusting my own effort instead of God's provision? Is the path I'm choosing the same path God has laid out in His Word?

You Were Warned | Genesis 4:8-16
BIG IDEA: Christians take sin seriously and respond rightly to God's judgment and mercy. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN How should I respond when sin is exposed in my life? 1. Confront Sin Courageously (8) 2. Confess Guilt Completely (9) 3. Count Consequences Carefully (10-12) 4. Consider Mercy Correctly (13-16) FAITH IN ACTION Where have jealousy, resentment, or anger been quietly taking root in my heart? How often do I explain my sin instead of confessing it? What consequences am I ignoring because the sin feels manageable? Have I mistaken God's patience for God's approval?

They Both Meant Well | Genesis 4:1-7
BIG IDEA: Christians worship God with faith shaped by His truth, not personal preference. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN What kind of worship does God actually accept? 1. Faith that Acknowledges God as Creator (1-2) 2. Faith that Accepts God as Authority (3-5) 3. Faith that Answers to God as Judge (6-7) FAITH IN ACTION Am I living to please myself instead of pleasing the Lord? Have I confused sincerity with obedience in my walk with Christ? Do I usually respond with humility or defensiveness when God confronts my sin?

Heroes of the Faith | Standing Firm in a Compromising Culture | Daniel 6:10-23
Pastor Justin Troup preaches that when culture demands compromise, believers stand firm in faith because they trust the Lord. Daniel 6:10-23 ESV 10 When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously. 11 Then these men came by agreement and found Daniel making petition and plea before his God. 12 Then they came near and said before the king, concerning the injunction, “O king! Did you not sign an injunction, that anyone who makes petition to any god or man within thirty days except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?” The king answered and said, “The thing stands fast, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be revoked.” 13 Then they answered and said before the king, “Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or the injunction you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.” 14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was much distressed and set his mind to deliver Daniel. And he labored till the sun went down to rescue him. 15 Then these men came by agreement to the king and said to the king, “Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no injunction or ordinance that the king establishes can be changed.” 16 Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king declared[a] to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!” 17 And a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords, that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel. 18 Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting; no diversions were brought to him, and sleep fled from him. 19 Then, at break of day, the king arose and went in haste to the den of lions. 20 As he came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish. The king declared to Daniel, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?” 21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! 22 My God sent his angel and shut the lions' mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.” 23 Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

Heroes of the Faith | Faithful in the Ordinary | Ruth 1:6-18
Pastor Justin preaches that believers live faithfully in the ordinary, trusting the Lord to accomplish His extraordinary purposes. Ruth's Loyalty to Naomi 6 Then she arose with her daughters-in-law to return from the country of Moab, for she had heard in the fields of Moab that the Lord had visited his people and given them food. 7 So she set out from the place where she was with her two daughters-in-law, and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah. 8 But Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each of you to her mother's house. May the Lord deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me. 9 The Lord grant that you may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband!” Then she kissed them, and they lifted up their voices and wept. 10 And they said to her, “No, we will return with you to your people.” 11 But Naomi said, “Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Have I yet sons in my womb that they may become your husbands? 12 Turn back, my daughters; go your way, for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say I have hope, even if I should have a husband this night and should bear sons, 13 would you therefore wait till they were grown? Would you therefore refrain from marrying? No, my daughters, for it is exceedingly bitter to me for your sake that the hand of the Lord has gone out against me.” 14 Then they lifted up their voices and wept again. And Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her. 15 And she said, “See, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” 16 But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. 17 Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. May the Lord do so to me and more also if anything but death parts me from you.” 18 And when Naomi saw that she was determined to go with her, she said no more.

Heroes of the Faith | Courageous Faith in the Face of Fear | Joshua 1: 1-9
Pastor Justin teaches that courageous faith starts with God’s promises, follows His Word, and depends on His presence. God Commissions Joshua 1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success[a] wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Heroes of the Faith | Courage for Such a Time as This | Esther 4:12-17
Pastor Justin Troup teaches that God places His people in key moments for His purposes. Esther 4:12-17 12 And they told Mordecai what Esther had said. 13 Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king's palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” 15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, 16 “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” 17 Mordecai then went away and did everything as Esther had ordered him.

Heroes of the Faith | When God Calls the Unqualified | Exodus 4:10-17
Pastor Justin teaches that the Lord equips His people with what they need for His calling. 10 But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” 11 Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” 13 But he said, “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.” 14 Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses and he said, “Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. 15 You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do. 16 He shall speak for you to the people, and he shall be your mouth, and you shall be as God to him. 17 And take in your hand this staff, with which you shall do the signs.”

Heroes of the Faith | Prepared for Purpose | 1 Samuel 16:1-13
Pastor Justin preaches on the life of King David from 1 Samuel 16:1-13 that God prepares His people for future purpose through present faithfulness. 1 The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.” 2 And Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.” And the Lord said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’ 3 And invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do. And you shall anoint for me him whom I declare to you.” 4 Samuel did what the Lord commanded and came to Bethlehem. The elders of the city came to meet him trembling and said, “Do you come peaceably?” 5 And he said, “Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice.” And he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice. 6 When they came, he looked on Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord's anointed is before him.” 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 8 Then Jesse called Abinadab and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, “Neither has the Lord chosen this one.” 9 Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, “Neither has the Lord chosen this one.” 10 And Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these.” 11 Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all your sons here?” And he said, “There remains yet the youngest,[a] but behold, he is keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and get him, for we will not sit down till he comes here.” 12 And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.

Stop Looking for Signs - Start Looking to Scripture | Romans 12:1-2
BIG IDEA: Christians live in God's will by trusting God's sovereignty, obeying His Scripture, and walking in biblical freedom. CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN How do I know that I'm living in God's will for my life? 1. Trust in What God Controls (Romans 12:1 / Isaiah 46:9-10) 2. Live by What God Commands (Romans 12:2 / 1 Thess. 4:3 & 5:18) 3. Walk in What God Cherishes (Psalm 37:4 / 1 Cor. 10:31) FAITH IN ACTION Where am I trying to control an outcome that only God can control? What decision am I still "praying about" that Scripture has already clearly addressed? Am I waiting for a sign in a decision where Scripture already gives me freedom to choose?

CHRISTIANS MUST LEARN How should Christians respond as Islam rises in influence and power? 1. Stand Firm against Islam's gospel (Gal. 1:8-9) 2. Stand Faithful under Islam's persecution (Rev.20:4) 3. Stand Fearless amid Islam's hostility (John 16:2-4) FAITH IN ACTION Do I understand the true gospel so deeply that I spot a counterfeit? Rooted or Ruined | Psalm 1
Elder Mark Reitz preaches that the righteous prosper by delighting in God's Word, but the wicked wither without it. Psalm 1 1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law[b] of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

Pastor Matt Godshall teaches from Psalm 93 that believers trust in the presence, power, and purposes of the LORD. Psalm 93 1 The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. 2 Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting. 3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. 4 Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty! 5 Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forevermore.

The Lord Is My Shepherd, A Psalm of David. 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Parenting With Purpose | Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Pastor Justin Troup preaches from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 that purposeful parenting begins with a heart that loves the one true God and a life that teaches His truth. 4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Unshakable Hope - Unstoppable Mission | Mark 16:1-8
Pastor Justin Troup teaches that believers live with unshakable hope and are sent on an unstoppable mission because Christ conquered the grave. The Resurrection 16 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3 And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” 4 And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. 6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” 8 And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Unshaken: Faith That Doesn't Fold | Mark 14:43-52
Pastor Justin Troup teaches that believers can face fear with confidence because Jesus courageously fulfilled God’s plan. Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus 43 And immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 44 Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I will kiss is the man. Seize him and lead him away under guard.” 45 And when he came, he went up to him at once and said, “Rabbi!” And he kissed him. 46 And they laid hands on him and seized him. 47 But one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. 48 And Jesus said to them, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? 49 Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me. But let the Scriptures be fulfilled.” 50 And they all left him and fled.

The Death That Didn't Win | Mark 15:33-47
Pastor Justin Troup preaches that believers' hope is in the Savior who took our place, tore the veil, and triumphed over death. The Death of Jesus 33 And when the sixth hour[a] had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.[b] 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” 35 And some of the bystanders hearing it said, “Behold, he is calling Elijah.” 36 And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down.” 37 And Jesus uttered a loud cry and breathed his last. 38 And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. 39 And when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw that in this way he[c] breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son[d] of God!” 40 There were also women looking on from a distance, among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome. 41 When he was in Galilee, they followed him and ministered to him, and there were also many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem. Jesus Is Buried 42 And when evening had come, since it was the day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 44 Pilate was surprised to hear that he should have already died.[e] And summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he was already dead. 45 And when he learned from the centurion that he was dead, he granted the corpse to Joseph. 46 And Joseph[f] bought a linen shroud, and taking him down, wrapped him in the linen shroud and laid him in a tomb that had been cut out of the rock. And he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.

Beaten but Unbroken | Mark 15:16-32
Pastor Justin teaches that believers have hope in Christ because He bore our sin on the cross in victory. Jesus Is Mocked 16 And the soldiers led him away inside the palace (that is, the governor's headquarters), and they called together the whole battalion. 17 And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him. 18 And they began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 19 And they were striking his head with a reed and spitting on him and kneeling down in homage to him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they led him out to crucify him. The Crucifixion 21 And they compelled a passerby, Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross. 22 And they brought him to the place called Golgotha (which means Place of a Skull). 23 And they offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it. 24 And they crucified him and divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take. 25 And it was the third hour when they crucified him. 26 And the inscription of the charge against him read, “The King of the Jews.” 27 And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on his left. 29 And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, 30 save yourself, and come down from the cross!” 31 So also the chief priests with the scribes mocked him to one another, saying, “He saved others; he cannot save himself. 32 Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.

Grace for the Guilty | Mark 14:66-72
Pastor Justin Troup teaches that Christ covers the failures of His people through His faithfulness. Peter Denies Jesus 66 And as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came, 67 and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.” 68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you mean.” And he went out into the gateway and the rooster crowed. 69 And the servant girl saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.” 70 But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders again said to Peter, “Certainly you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.” 71 But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.” 72 And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.

The Truth on Trial | Mark 14:53-65
Pastor Justin Troup teaches that believers stand forgiven because Jesus stood firm under false judgment. Jesus Before the Council 53 And they led Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together. 54 And Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he was sitting with the guards and warming himself at the fire. 55 Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none. 56 For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree. 57 And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, 58 “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’” 59 Yet even about this their testimony did not agree. 60 And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?" 61 But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” 62 And Jesus said, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” 63 And the high priest tore his garments and said, “What further witnesses do we need? 64 You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they all condemned him as deserving death. 65 And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, “Prophesy!” And the guards received him with blows.

When Strength Looks Like Surrender | Mark 14:26-42
Pastor Justin preaches that victory is standing firm through struggle by submitting to God's will and relying on His strength. Jesus Foretells Peter's Denial 26 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 27 And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ 28 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.” 29 Peter said to him, “Even though they all fall away, I will not.” 30 And Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” 31 But he said emphatically, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And they all said the same. Jesus Prays in Gethsemane 32 And they went to a place called Gethsemane. And he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and began to be greatly distressed and troubled. 34 And he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.”[a] 35 And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 36 And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” 37 And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 39 And again he went away and prayed, saying the same words. 40 And again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy, and they did not know what to answer him. 41 And he came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. The Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.”

The Table That Divides | Mark 14:22-25
Pastor Justin Troup preaches on communion from the passage Mark 14:22-25. Big Idea: Believers honor Christ by remembering His sacrifice and looking forward to His return. Mark 14:22-25 22 And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” 23 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. 24 And he said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. 25 Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”
